Dr. André Eiras is a physician who graduated from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in 2004. He completed his medical residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (INTO), finishing in 2008. He later completed a medical residency in Hand Surgery at UERJ, finishing in 2012.
Since then, he has dedicated his practice to hand surgery, wrist surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery. He worked as a hand surgeon at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, where he was approved through a public competitive examination in 2014, also serving as a medical residency preceptor until 2025. During that period, he was directly involved in the training of more than 20 residents.
In 2026, he was approved through a selection process to join the Specialized Hand Surgery Care Center at INTO, an institution recognized as the largest orthopedic hospital in Latin America and an international reference in the field.
He has experience in the treatment of complex injuries of the hand, wrist, and peripheral nerves, with work in reconstructive microsurgery and wrist arthroscopic procedures, including treatment of synovial cysts, triangular fibrocartilage injuries, and ligament injuries.
He also completed international training focused on the treatment of brachial plexus injuries, including experiences at the Mayo Clinic in the United States, as well as centers in the Netherlands and Cuba.
He is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Hand Surgery (SBCM) and the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SBOT). He is also a frequent examiner for the SBCM specialist title examination, an institution in which he served as regional director in 2023.
He speaks English, French, and Spanish.
